Friends of Beecroft School
The Friends of Beecroft Garden Primary School, or ‘FOBS’ for short, is a group of parents, carers, school governors and teachers who work with the school on a voluntary basis. Anyone who is a parent, carer of a Beecroft pupil or a member of school staff can get involved in FOBS.
As a registered charity, we organise social and fundraising events such as summer and Christmas fetes, cake sales and raffles. We raise funds for the school, and we then work with the school to decide how that money should be spent for the benefit of as many pupils as possible.
Over the past year, we have bought the Story Chair that has pride of place in the playground, funded new equipment for the nursery and paid for the whole school to see a pantomime! We also bought and planted 2000 bulbs to spruce up the school’s flowerbeds.
Over the next few months we are buying outdoor kit for Reception and Nursery to wear in the woodland area, buying new musical instruments and funding a mosaic project.
FOBS is a warm and welcoming group of parents and carers, and joining in with our activities is a great way to make new friends and really feel that you’re a part of the school community. Whether you’re keen to take a position on our committee or to bake a few cakes for a sale, we’d really appreciate your help.
We hold regular meetings, usually on Friday mornings during term-time, to which everyone is welcome. Do come and say hello!
