Hazel and Maple Stomps

In the Autumn term, Hazel and Maple classes composed their own rhythms, which we then combined into a class composition and performed to the school. The work was inspired by the group ‘Stomp’, who use drum sticks to play on literally anything! The children played chairs, boxes, bottles and tins, in fact all different types of recycling which they brought in from home, using the different types of sounds to make different rhythms. The challenge was to keep a steady pulse and focus on one’s own rhythm, when there were several other rhythms going at the same time!
